Basic Information
Natures Magick was created in 1997 out of a need for quality metaphysical products available for purchase within New Zealand. We started out as a 2 person business and grew into a small team of people. In 2000, we organised our 1st small open sabbat of which about 60 people of various paths attended. Camping, rituals, feasting, story telling and fun ensued. Later that year, a second gathering occured attended by 90 people. These gatherings became what is now known as The New Zealand Pagan Festival. The first festival of that name was held in 2002 and was open to the public. We incorporated Traders selling their wares, Lectures, Camping, Rituals, Pathworkings, Food Stalls, Sword Fighting and Live Music. That same year we brought International lecturers Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone to New Zealand for a series of workshops / lectures. 2003 saw another Festival with roughly 250 weekend campers attending! In 2004, my partner and I decided the Festival had become too big and needed to be organised and run by a seperate organisation. We, along with others, formed the New Zealand Pagan Centre which took over the organising of the Festival and International Tours. Another Festival was organised, this time over 300 campers attended and we welcomed Janet and Gavin back to New Zealand once again for a series of indepth workshops. In 2006, we decided to resign from the New Zealand Pagan Centre so our time could be devoted to Natures Magick and other personal committments.
